How to Install a WordPress Plugin Using a ZIP File

Follow these steps to install a WordPress plugin manually using a ZIP file:

  1. Download the Plugin ZIP File:

    • Ensure you have the plugin file in .zip format downloaded to your computer.

  2. Log In to Your WordPress Dashboard:

    • Go to your website’s admin panel by visiting yourdomain.com/wp-admin.

  3. Navigate to the Plugins Section:

    • In the left-hand menu, click on Plugins > Add New.

  4. Upload the Plugin:

    • At the top of the screen, click on the “Upload Plugin” button.
    • Click “Choose File” and select the plugin .zip file from your computer.

  5. Install the Plugin:

    • Once the file is selected, click the “Install Now” button.
    • WordPress will upload and install the plugin for you.

  6. Activate the Plugin:

    • After installation is complete, click “Activate Plugin” to enable it on your site.

  7. Verify Installation:

    • Go to the Plugins page to ensure the plugin appears in the list of installed plugins.
